Cultural heritage: the heritage of human creativity and expression. Unique collections of the Cracow University of Technology Library digitized as part of the EDT project

The aim of the article is to present rare and precious documents gathered in the Library of the Cracow University of Technology. The collection consists of books and journals dated back to the 18th-20th centuries. Having a lot of provenances marks (bookplates, stamps, handwritten signatures, notes or author's dedications), these materials are of a great importance to researchers, students and enthusiasts of the European history and heritage. On the one hand, the collection reflects the history of the universities and people associated with them. On the other hand, it provides knowledge about the historical, cultural and scientific heritage of Poland and Europe. The documents have never been exhibited before. To make these materials accessible to society, the CUT librarians have undertaken the cooperation with scientists from the AGH University of Science and Technology (AGH). The aim of this cooperation is to launch an online platform, where digitalized materials can be set. All these tasks are carried out as a part of the project „ European Technical Heritage”.References
