Burning libraries: the destruction of cultural heritage

The article presents the problem of setting fire to libraries, from ancient to modern times, with particular reference to the 20th and 21st centuries. Library fires were often planned destruction of cultural heritage and traces of the past. The libraries were also burned by invaders during armed conflicts. The destruction of libraries around the world and ways to protect libraries from fire are discussed.References
